Redesigning the Kaasspeciaalzaak website for fun

About the redesign
I also wanted to improve and learn more about design, which is why I started making a landing page for fun. During my first year of my study CMD, I had to redesign the website called: De Kaasspeciaalzaak. It’s a website from a cheeseshop in The Hague. Back then I wasn’t really good at making a good UI design. I wanted to see how much I had improved in the last few years.

The process
Over the past few years, the website had already been improved by other people. However, I still saw a lot of ways to improve the UI and UX of the website. Visual hierarchy, scale, contrast and colors were some of the big problems of the Current Design. The content had some problems as well. For example, the current design has a Instagram section, but it doesn’t show a single piece of content. I also felt that the design could be made more fancy, which is why I saw a lot of opportunity to design something amazing. I used Figma to make a new design.

The result
The result is a new design for the landing page of the Kaasspeciaalzaak. Visual hierarchy, scale, contrast and colors have been changed and improved upon. The content of the page has been updated and Is shown more detailled. For example, the Instagram Section now has a more detailled content section, where you can see the profile and images of the Kaasspeciaalzaak. Now you can also send out an email from the landing page, without being redirected to your email application.
